Speakers: Holly Goddard, Carey Nieuwhof, Chinwé Williams, and Sean Seay
Length: 4 Parts

If your house has ever had a busted pipe, you know what a hassle that is. Whether it’s faulty plumbing or just wear and tear, it doesn’t really matter in the end. What matters is the water that was supposed to be inside the pipe is now on the outside.

Our emotions work the same way. When they’re maintained the right way, everything runs pretty smoothly. But when we let emotions get outside where they’re supposed to be, we can cause damage with our words and our actions.

Part 1 • Emotions: Naming and Claiming Them

Our emotions are designed to tell us where we are, not to be our main guide for where we need to be. Being emotionally healthy begins with identifying and clarifying what we’re feeling in the first place. It also includes being willing to share with someone when our emotions are gaining too much of a stronghold.

In this session, we’ll walk through an exercise that helps us better pinpoint what emotions we’re feeling so we can better understand what to do them.

Part 2 • Burnout: Knowing When It's Too Much

You know that feeling of being emotionally and physically drained, like you're running on empty and every day feels like a marathon you didn't sign up for? Whether it’s at work or home, burnout is a real thing. In this session, bestselling author, speaker, and podcaster Carey Nieuwhof shares what led to his burnout and the path that all of us can follow to living free.

Part 3 • Anxiety: Getting Out of the Spiral

When anxiety takes over, we can’t think straight or make decisions, and whatever is causing our anxiety is all we think about. But can we do anything to avoid anxiety? If we find ourselves being controlled by anxiety, what should we do?

In this session, we'll learn from Dr. Chinwé Williams, a licensed therapist and author of Beyond the Spiral: Why You Shouldn’t Believe Everything Anxiety Tells You. She has experienced her own season of anxiety, and she’ll help us unpack what anxiety really is and what it isn’t. She’ll also give us pointers on how we can live free from its control.

Part 4 • Anger: Being In Control

Many of us are familiar with those times when anger takes over and sends us on a wild roller-coaster ride, leaving us frustrated, overwhelmed, and full of regret. When our anger spirals out of control, nobody wins. In this session, we’ll hear from pastor Sean Seay as he shares his own journey of anger and what he did to reclaim his life.
